Just last night (Dec 28),  Jennette McCurdy was at Universal Studios Hollywood with her family and celebrated the holidays by reading “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”  at the Grinchmas tree lighting.

Moments before the show, the iCarly star tweeted:

"Reading at both the 6:15pm and the 7:00pm GrinchmasGrinch reading now! Excited to be doing it twice. Irish accent for second reading?"
Following the show she tweeted again:

"Had such an excellent day at Universal Studios Hollywood with my family. Got to read The Grinch for both tree lightings this evening as part of the Grinchmas celebration! Many thanks to Universal Studios for having me."

Demi Lovato Tweetsand Disney Pulls Episodes

After a series of tweets from Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on Twitter earlier today, Disney Channel has now pulled two episodes off their schedule. One is the Shake It Up episode “Party It Up” and the other is supposedly an episode of So Random!. Both episodes are being pulled due to claims they contain jokes about eating disorders.

On Friday at 8:03PM EST, Demi tweeted “”I could just eat you up, well if I ate” – Disney Chanel’s Shake It Up…. What are we promoting here? #notfunnyATALL”. She then followed up two minutes later with “I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about..” and “…that very disease….. #nice.”.

Following those three tweets, she retweeted user @GabbyTremblayNT’s tweet “@ddlovato & they said something about that on So Random. it pisses me off when they joke about it”.

Lovato continued at 8:11PM saying “And is it just me or are the actress’ getting THINNER AND THINNER…. I miss the days of RAVEN, and LIZZIE MCGUIRE.”
Another retweet followed from @ashblack16 saying “@ddlovato and society wonders why there are 7 yr old with eating disorders…yet disney is making jokes about it”.

Lastly at 8:13PM she tweeted “Dear Disney Channel, EATING DISORDERS ARE NOT SOMETHING TO JOKE ABOUT.”
From there fans continued to tweet about the issue, causing terms like “Disney Channel,” “Shake It Up,” “SIU” and others to trend on Twitter’s Trending Topics list.

Disney Channel quickly picked up on the issue, using their official (verified) account @DisneyChannelPR tweeting Lovato at 10:32PM saying “@ddlovato – we hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them (1 of 2 messages)” and “@ddlovato – It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders! (2 of 2 messages)”.

Lovato last tweeted at 12:40AM EST on Saturday morning saying “@DisneyChannelPR thank you.”.

With this, it looks like those two episodes will now be pulled from Disney Channel’s schedule. The Shake It Upepisode “Party It Up” did air Friday at 2pm ET/PT. Maybe that’s when some fans noticed it and tweeted her, or possibly she saw it for herself?

The So Random! episode in question is “Episode 109″ with musical guest Colbie Caillat.

So Random! is the third season of Sonny With A Chance, where Demi Lovato starred before entering a treatment facility for bulimia and self-injury in late 2010.

MTV Ranks Justin Bieber Their #5 Newsmaker of 2011

In the two years since Justin Bieber dropped his debut album, My World, the teen superstar has become one of the biggest forces in pop music and amassed a dedicated legion of Beliebers along the way.

A global superstar who can top the box office as well as the charts, it's hard to remember what pop was like pre-Bieber. Over the course of the year, MTV News watched as the young star continued to climb new career heights, and you were there as we covered every milestone on the way to Justin's becoming our #5 Top Newsmaker of 2011.

"Fans will be really excited to see that I'm just a regular 16-year-old having fun just living my dream," he told MTV News in February at the premiere of his 3-D film, "Never Say Never." "And it's possible for anyone to live theirs."

Bieber's determination to dream even bigger was clear this past year. He kicked off 2011 with the release of a concert documentary that brought fans into his world, pre- and post-fame; he followed that up with more music, dropping Never Say Never - The Remixes. By mid-year Bieber was selling out venues on his My World Tour, and at the end of '11, he was ready to celebrate the holidays with Under the Mistletoe. He also made time to rap for us right in the MTV Newsroom, had teen girls everywhere smelling good with his Someday perfume and made jaws drop by chopping off his famous locks.

"We knew it was going to be a big deal," Bieber's hairstylist, Vanessa Price, explained. "We knew it was going to shock fans, but we also knew it was going to be a change in terms of growing up. I think that's something that people adjust to."

Demi Lovato Tweets Support To Selena Gomez Recent Family Crisis

Over the weekend, tragedy struck Selena Gomez‘s family when her mother, Mandy, 35, suffered a miscarriage.

Gomez was excited to become a big sister and was so happy for her mother and stepfather, Brian Teefey — but, this happiness quickly turned to sadness when Gomez caught word of the devastating news. Gomez canceled her weekend performances to be with her family, but this doesn’t mean that her circle of celeb friends forgot about her.

After the news of the miscarriage went public, Gomez’s longtime friend Demi Lovato tweeted at the singer. The ‘Skyscraper’ singer, who knows firsthand what it’s like to struggle with personal crises in the public eye, tweeted the simple message “I love you” at Gomez.

If anyone can help Gomez overcome the grief that comes with a family tragedy such as this, it’s Lovato. The singer, who first met Gomez on the set of ‘Barney and Friends’ when they were just tykes, has struggled with depression and seems to have made her way to the lighter end of the tunnel this past year. Lovato must know that sometimes, all you need is a good friend who loves you and cares about you to help you get past the rough patches.

Exclusive! Joyful Noise Press Day With Keke Palmer And Jeremy Jordan!

By Anne M. Raso

We were lucky enough to catch up with Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan who play love interests in the feel good movie of early 2012, Joyful Noise (due out from Warner Bros. on 1-13). We were lucky enough to get to attend the press roundtables at New York's Regency Hotel yesterday and after getting to speak to Keke and Jeremy, we had our chance to chat with director Todd Graff (of Camp and Bandslam fame) and the superstars of the film, Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton. All the other stars of the film seemed in awe of Dolly, but that goes without surprise--and director Graff told us that Dolly would bake him fresh fudge in the middle of the night for the next day's filming because he ate Hershey bars all the time and he explains it, "She wanted me to stop eating things with preservatives!"

In a nutshell, the film is a musical comedy about a null Southern choir trying to work themselves up to the finals of a national competition, and they do indeed make it to the finals in LA--but along the way, there's the off-again, on-again romance between Keke and Jeremy's characters, and a whole lot of fighting going on between the Queen character Vi Rose Hill's rough-and-tumble "survivor" character and Dolly's rich-lady-about-town character which includes a biscuit fight at a Southern diner! We can't give anything else away except to say that the great Kris Kristofferson plays Dolly's character GG Sparrow's husband Bernard who passes away early in the film--and that the meaning of the name GG is not revealed til about three-quarters into Joyful Noise! Not surprisingly, it means "Gorgeous Grandma"! (Dolly's not a grandma in real life, as you might know, though)!

Anyway, Keke's mom is played by The Queen and in real life, Keke and The Queen have known each other about ten years! Keke's character Olivia Hill seems to not like Jeremy Jordan's character Randy Garrity at first, but he seems more lovable to hear once he shows off his talents by joining the choir that all the characters belong to and are working so hard to get to the finals. He wears his heart on his sleeve and wears down Olivia in record time. The movie is clean, though, so parents do not have to worry about their kids seeing anything but a six-second smooch.

We spoke to Keke and Jeremy about their chemistry and they admit that when they met they hit it off immediately. But it comes as no surprise that Keke--whose mom was a real-life choir director, just like her onscreen mom Queen Laitifah--was terrified of doing her first big on-screen kiss. "My big make out scene might have only been about six seconds but I consider this my big coming-of-age movie," Keke confided to us. To which Jeremy adds, "It was animalistic and raw--but I am used to doing this kind of thing sometimes nine times a week on Broadway! (Laughs.) I was the understudy for the lead in Rock Of Ages, and I got this part through a twist of fate. (Director) Todd Graff was in the audience the first night I actually got to go on (in the play)!"

Keke and Jeremy both loved working with the affable Graff and are quick to point out his best attributes: "He knows how to work with larger than life characters and he is also great with nuances! He is very professional and always kind. He was a lot of fun to work with!" Keke went on to add that she was thrilled to work with Dolly Parton because "She always herself--and as funny and kind as you'd expect her to be!"

Keke tells us that she would like to do a "heavy love story" as her next film project while Jeremy tells us, "I would like to do a badass action film!"

We know that big things are ahead for both these rising stars. Be sure to check out Joyful Noise--it can pick you up out of the most blue of moods and it's a film you can go to with your mom and pop (or even your Sunday school class) and you'll enjoy the wacky and diverse cast of characters. And let's us add that's it great to see Dolly Parton back on the big screen after nearly 20 years (her last film was Straight Talk, believe it or not)!

Adam Hicks Joins Disney XD's A Pair Of Kings—Mitchel Leaves

As we repeorted earlier... Lemonade Mouth star  Adam Hicks will be joining A Pair of Kings. Earlier this fall, the 20 year old ran into a legal issue and Disney agreed to free him from the show. Taylor Swift Celebrates 22nd Birthday With CMT's Artists Of The Year

Our friends at MTV caught up with  Taylor Swift on the red carpet of the event, and she opened up about being honored alongside fellow Nashville pals Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum and Brad Paisley.

"What I love about this event is it feels very low-key and fun and you can bring your friends, you sit at a table. It's very unlike any other award show," she said late last month at the taping in Music City. "Because you're not sitting there wondering who's going to win. There's no anxiety, because you know who's being honored, and it's all about hearing the way the music is presented by other artists. It's really exciting."
