FIRST LOOK: BRENNAN HILLARD

Do you see any similarities between Zac Efron and newcomer Brennan Hillard? If you’ve seen the comedy Dance Flick, then you know Brennan, 19 spoofs Zac by playing a character named “Jack”. Dance Flick, a parody film directed by Damien Wayans and written by the Wayans Brothers spoofs all your favorite teen dance films including Save The Last Dance, Hairspray and of course, the ever unforgettable High School Musical.
This is Brennan’s first feature film and this hottie is gaining a lot of attention. He was performing before he could even walk. His first public appearance was singing at his sister’s wedding. At age seven he joined a theatre group and immediately got bitten by the acting bug. His first play was The Grinch, later followed by lead performances in Bye, Bye, Birdie, Cinderella, The Secret Garden and Little Shop of Horrors. In 2004, he received the National Youth Theatre award for best actor in Little Shop of Horrors.
In 2003, Brennan was chosen out of thousands of performers to appear on the show American Juniors, a spin-off of American Idol. He performed “That Thing You Do” on national television.
But it was his appearance in Dance Flick really got him noticed in Hollywood. "Working on 'Dance Flick' was an amazing and life-changing experience. I made great friends and learned so much from watching the Wayans brothers and my co-stars!"
"Playing 'Jack' was incredible. It's always fun to play a character you are nothing like. I'm very laid back and calm and 'Jack' is completely crazy out there. With 'Jack' there were no limitations to what I could do. I had the time of my life playing him."
What do you think of Brennan Hillard? On The Teen Beat wants to know.

FIRST LOOK: 13 YEAR-OLD SINGER-SONGWRITER RELEASES EP, DAMAGED HEART
If you’re expecting the usual pop music musings from this daring new recording artist, forget it. 13-year-old Jessarare’s music does nor follow in the ranks of the Jonas Brothers, or Naked Brothers Band. He is in a class all by himself. “There is so much music I love and listen to, but I don’t think I sound like anyone else,” notes Jessarae. “I’m just doing my own thing and what comes natural to me.”
Jessarae’s debut EP, Damaged Heart is the work of a gifted artist who, with the ease of a pro draws in such strong emotions of hope, love, despair and loneliness and translates it into song more effectively than most musicians twice his age. Hard to believe, but you’ll have to check it out for yourself on his official website: www.jessarae.com which also links to his My Space and Facebook pages.
“My mom always told me I’m an old soul,” he says. “I write about other people’s experiences and I have the ability to put myself in their shoes and feel what they’re feeling.”
But just how much does this adorable 13-yearold know about having a broken heart. His answer may surprise you. “Like I not had my heart broken,” but when I wrote “Damaged Heart”, I felt as though I had, and it allowed me to write about someone else’s world and tell their story.”
