New Super Mario Bros. Wii: Super Senior Challenge!
An already exciting year for NOA culminated in a wonderful event today at the Belmont Village Living community, where Disney stars, Cole & Dylan Sprouse showed up to spend time with the senior residents and do what they love doing—playing video games!
The boys are huge fans of Nintendo and are particularly fond of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, which was the featured title at the event. For several hours, the boys spent time with the residents, most of which had never picked up a controller before, teaching them how to play and really brightening their holidays with some great Wii fun. What was most heartwarming about the interaction between the boys and the senior residents is how quick they were to take full advantage of the cooperative feature on New Super Mario Bros. Wii and help out the seniors when they were having difficulty. The senior residents were fascinated by the fact that the boys could pick them up on their shoulders and get them through tough areas. In turn, the boys enjoyed sharing one of their favorites hobbies with the seniors. Moreover, the event seemed to be the talk of the senior living community, as seniors were pouring in to the Great Hall to get their turn behind the controller to play New Super Mario Bros. Wii, or get behind the wheel for Mario Kart. Wii Sports Resort was also a crowd favorite as the Sprouse brothers challenged the seniors to swordplay and table tennis.
When asked whether they play cooperatively or competitively with one another, the brothers were quick to say that they “play cooperatively in a competitive manner.” They proudly shared the fact that they have gone through the final level of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and take full advantage of the multi-player function by inviting one of their best friends to participate.
